"The geography around us are like paintings on the wall. Our mountains and rivers are as much a part of our every day life as our friends, our family, our schools, but they speak to a deeper part of us that sounds a lot more like home.

I grew up at the mouth of American Fork canyon in Utah. The mountains that towered around me greeted me blazing orange every morning, and silhoutted black every night, their weight seeming to anchor me to that spot.  As an adult I found myself living in Los Angeles. I love the Sierra Nevadas, but I missed the rockies, and would daydream about having some sort of representation of that canyon I loved at my new home.

Covid happened, and on a whim I rented a semi truck and purchased Maggie, an aging Multicam MG103 mill from a derelict cabinet shop in Sacramento. She needed a lot of work, but I knew this was the tool to see if this type of art was possible. We spent covid lockdowns together and by 2021 we were both up to speed and began the process of developing the art form. Two years and many failures later, we now partner with the Earth and other celestial bodies to create detailed snapshots of their features in a scale that can fit into people's homes.

I'd like my viewers to look through the work and see themselves in a meaningful place or lost in memory, tracing their hands along features their feet know well, or discovering a surprising new place they want to explore. My purpose is to allow people to say I live here, but I'm from thereI’m obsessed with connecting people with the places they love, and allowing people to interact with the world around them in a brand new way."
